Okehampton Otters Swimming Club

Competition information:

Swimmers at Okehampton Otters Swimming Club can compete at various levels throughout their swimming journey.

You will receive an email inviting your swimmer to enter appropriate galas via the SportsEngine Motion app. Please do look at the Competition Calendar found on Team Unify.

Junior/Swim Skills Fun Galas

These are friendly meets held with local clubs, designed to introduce newer swimmers to the sport of competitive swimming in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Swimmers gain valuable experience with gala procedures such as:

  • Warm-ups
  • Marshalling (preparing for races)
  • Starts (including diving blocks where appropriate)
  • Finishes and exiting the pool correctly
  • Supporting teammates and following coach/team manager guidance

Licensed Meets

Licensed meets are run under strict Swim England conditions. Times recorded here are official and published on the Swim England website, allowing them to be used as qualifying entry times for other competitions.

  • Levels of Licensed Meets: Range from Level 4 (entry level) to Level 1 (national standard).
  • Fees: Entry fees apply.
  • Pool Lengths: 25m pools are short-course; 50m pools are long-course.
